The Sun Comes Up on Everyone

The sun came up this morning on the one who cursed my name, on his roof and then on my roof, and it warmed them both the same. It never asked a question, never checked who had done wrong, it just climbed above the hillside and got on with being sun. Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), the sun comes up, on everyone (on everyone). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), that's how you take after your Father (take after your Father). Now anybody loves the ones who love him, that's no wonder, the tax man does it too. Anybody says good morning to his brother, tell me, friend, what's special, what is new? But the rain came down on the good man's garden and it came down on the bad man's too, and your Father sent it, every drop of it, to the one who never once said thank you. Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), the sun comes up, on everyone (on everyone). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), that's how you take after your Father (take after your Father). If the man who hates you stumbles, don't you smile behind your hand. If his donkey's down and loaded, kneel beside him, set it free. If he's hungry, break your bread with him, if he's thirsty, fill his cup. Kindness is a slow fire, brother, even iron softens in the heat. Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), the sun comes up, on everyone (on everyone). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), that's how you take after your Father Jehovah, here's his name. I'm not asking you to pay him back, that's yours, and I leave it there. Your Son said, Father, forgive them, while they were casting lots for his clothes. So work on him, as long as it takes, and bring him round to knowing you, and when the hard words come at me, help me not to send them back. Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), the sun comes up, on everyone (on everyone). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them (keep on loving, praying for them), that's how you take after your Father (take after your Father). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them till your love goes the whole way round (the whole way round). Keep on loving them, keep praying for them that's how you take after your Father Sun's up (on everyone), rain's down (on everyone), keep on, keep on, you take after your Father. Sun's up (on everyone), rain's down (on everyone), keep on, keep on, you take after your Father.
