"Keep Walking by Spirit"

Morning finds me on this road again, same shoes, same two feet. There's a war inside me, I won't lie, it wakes up when I reach the street. But I was never walking on my own strength, never did, never could. I asked my Father for his spirit, and he gives it, like he said he would. Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), and the flesh won't win today (walk on, walk on). Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), there's a word behind me saying: this is the way, this is the way, walk in it. Brother, when the doorway calls you, sweet voice, easy chair, when the shortcut runs downhill and shining and it swears nobody sees you there: you were called to freedom, brother, but not to feed that fire again. Lean on me when the hill gets heavy, I'll lean on you around the bend. Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), and the flesh won't win today (walk on, walk on). Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), there's a word behind me saying: this is the way, this is the way, walk in it. Jehovah, you see the pulling, two desires in one chest. I won't ask you to end the war tonight, only lead my next step. You said you'd give your spirit to those who ask you, so I'm asking you now. Here I am on the quiet road, still asking: walk me through, walk me through now. A man once walked with God so long, three hundred years of road. And the one who keeps on sowing to the spirit reaps a life that won't grow old. So I won't tire and I won't give out, the harvest is ahead. And fruit keeps growing while I keep walking: love, and joy, and peace. Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), and the flesh won't win today (walk on, walk on). Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), there's a word behind me saying: this is the way, this is the way, walk in it. Keep walking by spirit (every morning), and the flesh won't win today (every mile). Keep walking by spirit (walk on, walk on), there's a word behind me saying: this is the way, this is the way, walk in it. Walk on, walk on, one step, one morning, one road. Walk on, walk on, this is the way. Walk in it.
